Prototype: finding our voice

13-May-2014 by ISOTX under Blog, Featured, March of War | 4 Comments »

With the imminent release of March of War, we are not only working hard on bug fixing, polishing, and improving the artwork. We will also introduce a complete new set of voice-overs!

The ones we have now are so funny, they are annoying. That was the main thing that prompted us to give them a complete overhaul. Rewriting the entire script, finding new actors with voices that better fit the 3D game, and ultimately elevating your March of War experience to a new level.

Our goal is to make them sound more natural. This means that we have been looking for accents that don’t sound forced, but native. Further we will also reduce the frequency of each line, making the voice-overs less repetitive.

Sounds good! I’ve been wanting some more diverse voices in game. The soviet driver, evil drawl sounding drawl of the Junta, Canadians sounding like they are from the US, Sikhs, Chinese, Koreans that all sound stereotypical Japanese, German Designed tanks driven by British. These are the sounds that need to change the most, in my humble opinion.

You can redo everything but the EA bicycle infantry. That one needs to be funny and annoying.
