Some very diverse links for you this week. Over at Money Blue Book Raymond asks is the Video Game Industry Getting Bigger Than the Movie Industry? Perhaps one day we’ll see a writer’s strike for the game industry, especially as storyline and character becomes more and more important.
For the retro-gamers amongst you, I stumbled on a rather excellent blog called Racket Boy. Some excellent articles, and reviews of older games you may have missed.
Meanwhile over at Lag-O-Rama, I read back through some posts and found this list of MMORPG cliches. If you’re planning on creating an MMO anytime soon it might be wise to take a gander at these and check that your Universe does add up.
Last, but definitely not least, I’ll leave you with an interview with David Jaffe - the developer behind God of War and Twisted Metal. In it he discusses the relationship of games to music, which is a bit more complicated than ‘just sticking your favorite song in it’. It’s an extensive, and somewhat philosophical interview, but those are the best kind. Check it out.

I’ve seen the interview with Jaffe in my feeds but still haven’t read it yet.
I’m a fan of RacketBoy’s Retrogaming blog as well. RacketBoy is a really swell guy. I try to contribute to his blog when I get the free time.
