I just registered for this site, eventough not owning Warlord as of now. Just saw it on the steam store and started to wonder.
First thing that came to my eyes was the mediocre Metascore (60) of this game.
My first reaction was to click the game away and search to something else, but why would steam let this game be added NOW ~ 2years after release including a 4pack offer and a 20% deal which basically means that they will give the game a good level of support!
Also a score of 60-70 often can mean its a great game with a log of bugs that can (and hopefully will) be fixed. So can this be the case and the metascore rating is long obsolete because the game got patched accordingly?

Well anyways after reading a bit I found you are highly actively involved in your forum and afterlaunch support is not a foreign word for you.  *thumpsup* =]

But there is no steam forum? Why is that? Steam user mentality goes like this:
Look at the features of the game (sp,mp,coop, steamworks features) then they look at the metascore and the trailer/description/screenshots.
Then they will look into the steam forum and see what the overall opinion of the game is. You will find a "Is this game worth buying" thread in every steam game forum I promise =]
Many people then buy the game according to the answers they get there and the overall mood of the threads in the forum.(alot of ppl complaining means bad game alot of ppl suggesting stuff, posting their ideas etc means good game that has a strong userbase Wink. If they see that the community is very active there, this is a huge plus and will get you more games sold and even better if the developers are active there too.

So just wondering will there be a steam forum? xD It kinda looks like nobody is playing the game or you don't want people writing bad stuff about the game in the forum Cheesy Not many steam users will actually seek the developer forums out after seeing that metascore ^^

What I also want to know is if there are people playing online? I mean is it possible to find full games all time of day(dont have to be many server...) or is it more like you have to be lucky to find a full game...

One thing that is a huge plus and also a reason I consider buying this game is that you priced it fairly!
1$DOES NOT EQUAL 1€ Thank you very much for actually using fair pricing. =)
Oh and I think it is a great idea of isotx to linkup with steam (grats on that I read you have been rejected earlier)
May steam make your game prosper and full with players =]

The game is kinda dark territory for me, and I am always looking for good mp/coop games that are not dead online wise ^^

I am considering buying the 4pack, but I really bought alot of games lately I really dont need more, but if this game is actually supported with additional content from now it would look differently..

Regarding that metacritic score or even the IGN review... It might be bad, but there are always user reviews... Sadly there is only 1 very short user review at metacritic and none at IGN. Could help alot if some fans of the game maybe write some reviews xD Just a thought ^^

ps: Please excuse my english, I am from Austria. ^^

edit: just found your steamforum... xD Still there is no link from the store page to that iron grid warlord steam forum... You maybe should adress that issue or tell Valve about it =]

Hey I'm Monique, our senior CM here Smiley

Wow, you have tons of ideas! I love that! Let me address your questions:

- Firstly, we have told Steam about the lack of a forums link. Hopefully they'll fix 'er up. They fixed our demo recently. Launches are always full of errors, I suppose, but I hope we can get things like that straightened out ASAP. Myself and Nikos, our crazy greek man, have been active on the Steam forums as you can probably see (I post as Monique there, too, feel free to wave at me!).

- I think if you like this genre you will like our game, but you should download our demo and see first! The demo plays the first map online with everyone, paid and free users alike, so you can get a good feel for how the game will actually be in reality. It's also on Steam. If you like it, now's a good time to buy since it's so much cheaper than it usually would be (yay, discount from Steam!).

- We have a lot of fan reviews, but people don't count them towards MetaCritic unfortunately. I am very disappointed with our IGN review myself, but it brought up some of our bugs and gave us motivation to fix those bugs so it wasn't completely unfair - just a lot lower than myself and the team would've liked Wink They also reviewed it before a patch came out which did fix some of the problems they cited. Oh well. Btw, you have a very good idea about commenting and reviews.

- As for additional content, we are working on a new map and further Steamworks content. We will always keep trying to improve Iron Grip: Warlord as long as it has fans. Smiley

For anyone else looking in, here's our Steam forums: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=886

For this price, it's a great fucking game. The difficulty range is very good and that makes the game suitable for all players.
It however has (afaik) no modding support, and that is a set down for any indy game I think.

Also, big review sites like IGN suck. They probaby get payed by EA games and other big companies to rate them well. I dissagree with most scores.

To be perfectly honest with you - I personally don't look at metacritic scores or much else when buying games, I personally buy games on impulse. You'll find most review sites such as IGN do not give fair reviews and often nitpick at what is wrong rather than praise what was done right. ;0
