This is from an air show in the Ukraine.  About 80 were killed in the crash.

Whoa! if thats not a photoshopped image, thats one nasty "Faces of Death" moment  Shocked

I think this is going to be the best Fighter jet ever! it's called the T-50, made under the PAK FA, it's suppose to be able to counter the F-35 and F-22, but it's still in the early stages, it has been dubbed the "Raptorsky"

check it out

Hehe, the Lockheed engineers that designed the Raptor sure must be proud that the rest of the world likes their design so much that they are copying it:

HAH! lol! I guess that's how all future planes are going to be!

just like the Mig-15, it was the first of its kind, soon all other planes took the same design. I guess its America's time to shine

althoug...the J-10 had its design long before the F-22s...

Personally, I hope that the guys at Sukhoi do not follow these photoshop drawings.  Its been a while since Russia came up with on their airframes, ever since then its all been improved versions of US airframes.  The Mig-29 and Su-27 were both based on the F-15's general configuration.  I got my hopes up with the Su-47 that there might be something original coming for once, since the only new thing in the past couple of years has been the F-22 and F-23.  I mean, the Rafale is based on older Mirages, the Eurofighter and J-10 draw from the Israeli Lavi and the F-16, the F-35 is basically a poor man's version of the F-22, both specifications-wise and airframe-wise, and the Su-30/35/37 are all basically pimped out Su-27's.  Seems like jet makers lost whatever creativity they had in the 50s-70s where a radically new plane would come out almost every year.

The shape of the Su-27 is nowhere near the F-25, the actual shape of the Mig-29 and Su-27 is similiar particulary because the Mikoyan and Sukhoiy were competetors. But yea, I was getting Excited about the Su-47, but it was scrapped for the T-50.

although I still think Russian Aircraft all have their own unique shape and style

Both the Su-27 and Mig-29 are based on the F-15's design(twin stabilizers, twin engines, same basic wing design).  If you look at pictures of the really early prototypes of the Su-27, it looks a lot more like the F-15:

I don't know, IMO the Russian planes all look different than the US ones, and ok Twin engines etc, all planes are like 2day, but If you focus, you can see that the F-15s engines are almost near the cockpit and there is no elevation on the F-15 from its body. The Mig-29 and Su-27 both their engines are below the body, and the head of the plane is slightly elevated

Yes, but they are still based on the same basic design, which they then improved upon to suit their own needs.  It would not be the exact same because the USSR could not afford to have a fleet of F-15's, they needed something cheaper that also could do the air to ground stuff.

I think they could afford it, but their strategy was bad, the USSR was a very wealth country, but their stragtegy was quantity over quality, they needed a plane that could be built fast, Russia currently yes, it cant afford a fleet of mostly anything, but I think theyre changing their strategy

althoug...the J-10 had its design long before the F-22s...

The ATF competition that resulted in the F-22 started in 1981, 5 years before the J-10 program started in 1986.  First F-22 flew in 1991; first J-10 flew in 1996.

I never said that the J-10 and F-22 designs were related.  The J-10 is based on the Lavi and the F-16.

I love Russian aircraft just for their design and style, they look more like warplanes. the F-22 IMO looks like a jet fighter from star wars, very...shiny Tongue

I did not post that picture with the intent of saying Russian planes are bad.  I just thought that it was an insane picture that the photographer managed to capture at that instant.  If you have a problem with the picture, all you had to do is pm me and ask me to remove it and I will, I wasn't trying to offend you.
